Job summary

Indiana Historical Society is seeking a Digital Media and Podcast Producer to drive the podcast program and support video production within the Content Studio. This role collaborates with the Director of Content and Digital Engagement to bring stories to life across platforms.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in video production, podcast recording, audio editing, and media preparation for multi-channel distribution, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends as projects demand.

Job Title: Digital Media and Podcast Producer

POSITION PURPOSE

Position supports video production and serves as day-to-day producer for the growing podcast work of the Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS) content studio.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Coordinate the entire cycle of the podcast recording experience
• Edit audio and video
• Assist with complex studio and field shots
• Prepare media for all IHS platforms
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Demonstrated knowledge of video production, podcast recording, audio production, and editing software
• Ability to collaborate and communicate, especially with those with less media experience
• Ability to record and actively monitor clean audio
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as projects dictate, such as evenings and weekends

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Wrist & Visual Stamina – Ability to type and focus on a computer screen for prolonged periods of time

Strength – Ability to lift & carry items weighing up to 35 pounds

Physical Movement – Bending, Kneeling, and Crouching In order to reach & pick up items, standing for long periods of time
