The Digital Literacy Navigator in Hutchinson, KS, will implement IRC's Digital Literacy Program under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. The role involves equipping clients with digital skills, providing culturally and linguistically competent services, and developing curriculum to empower clients to use technology effectively, from basic computer use to creating resumes with Microsoft Word.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a digital literacy training series in collaboration with the program coordinator.
- Work with IRC Wichita staff to refine training based on population needs.
- Engage community partners in digital asset mapping.
- Conduct one-on-one digital skills development sessions and workshops.
- Assess clients and track data.
- Serve as a community referral point.
- Design programs and activities contributing to positive outcomes.
- Follow all IRC policies and procedures, including the IRC Way.
- Maintain accurate records for program eligibility and reporting.
- Participate in meetings and staff development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Experience working with refugee, immigrant, and low-income populations preferred.
- At least 1 year in instruction, client counseling, case management, or coaching preferred.
- Familiarity with digital literacy and inclusion efforts.
- Proficiency in using ICT to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information.
- Multicultural experience and effective communication skills preferred.
- Ability to work independently, organize tasks, and communicate well, including presentations.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the service area.
Working Environment:
- Combination of office and field work within the service area.
- Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
