Job summary

Felton Institute offers a Digital Literacy Trainer role focused on teaching technology to older adults and underserved community members. You will deliver in-person instruction, run workshops, and provide one-on-one coaching to improve digital skills for communication, healthcare access, employment, and daily tasks.

Training emphasizes inclusivity, language needs, and accessibility, with collaboration across centers and libraries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Experience teaching or training older adults in technology or community settings.
• Ability to develop or adapt curriculum and training materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for explaining tech to non-technical learners.
• Experience working with diverse communities in inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver digital literacy curriculum and workshops for participants with varying tech experience.
• Create and update instructional materials and lesson plans to support learning.
• Deliver training to multilingual participants and coordinate with interpreters when needed.
• Help participants use computers, smartphones, tablets, and online tools with translations as necessary.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse backgrounds and accessibility needs.
