Job summary

University of North Texas System seeks a Project Development Librarian to join the External Partnerships Unit of the Digital Libraries Division. The role focuses on coordinating digitization projects, training external partners, and expanding access to the Portal to Texas History.

The librarian works with internal and external stakeholders to advance UNT Libraries' mission, build collaborations, and promote digital initiatives nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

• Education: ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information sciences.
• Ability to build effective work relationships.
• Evidence of excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily undertakings for The Portal to Texas History and other Digital Library initiatives.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and pick-up and delivery of materials for digitization projects.
• Provide instructional training on preparing collections for digitization and metadata creation.
• Build collaborative relationships with other institutions and private collectors.
• Provide public access to digital materials and assist with planning for digital initiatives.
• Build awareness of The Portal to Texas History via newsletters, social media, and presentations.
• Provide virtual reference assistance for The Portal to Texas History to partners and the public.
• Increase awareness of UNT Libraries services and collections through outreach activities.
• Promote the Portal at conferences and collaborate with units to schedule digitization projects.
• Oversee Portal Research Fellowship Program and track related presentations.
