Job summary

The University of South Carolina's College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management seeks a Digital Learning Specialist to support educational technology initiatives, focusing on course development within Blackboard and digital accessibility remediation.

You will ensure content meets WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and ADA standards, while collaborating with the Instructional Design team to enhance inclusive learning experiences for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, information technology, communications, or a related field.
• Experience with higher education digital learning and accessibility remediation.
• Knowledge of WCAG, Section 508, and ADA standards.

Responsibilities

• Accessibility remediation and compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and ADA.
• Audit digital course assets for accessibility and copyright compliance.
• Assist faculty in creating accessible, copyright-compliant materials.
• Collaborate on educational technology projects and course quality assurance.
• Utilize Generative AI tools to prototype learning assets.
• Stay current with accessibility standards and best practices.
• Provide other duties as assigned.
