United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is seeking a Senior Broadcast Supervisor to oversee digital broadcasting operations across radio, TV, and online platforms. The ideal candidate will coordinate content scheduling, collaborate with production and technical teams, and edit materials as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising broadcast staff and coordinating multi-platform content delivery.
  • Ability to meet quality standards, deadlines, and VOA guidelines.
  • Fluency in target language with ability to adapt stories into English within deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Cuba history and U.S.-Cuba relations desirable.

  • Review copy for broadcast/publication and approve content for assigned stories.
  • Contribute to graphics and production elements; meet deadlines and productivity standards.
  • Suggest policy and workflow improvements; work independently or in a team.

Primary responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate digital broadcasting operations across multiple platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and uninterrupted content delivery. Monitor live and recorded digital broadcasts, troubleshooting technical issues and escalating problems as needed to maintain service quality. Lead and support broadcasting staff, assigning workloads, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to operational procedures and standards. Manage digital content scheduling, publication, and distribution to maximize audience engagement and platform performance. Collaborate with production, communications, and technical teams to implement broadcast plans and special event coverage. Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned As assigned, edits and approves copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication for inclusion in his/her assigned stories Contributes finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material and static and motion graphics, as assigned Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements Works independently or as a member of a team Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned Knowledge of Cuba’s history and familiarity with U.S./Cuba relations Other related duties as assignedAbout the AgencyThe United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is an exciting, multi-media, multi-cultural, global media agency that carries out all United States civilian international broadcasting.
