Job summary

KBTX News, part of Gray Media, is seeking a Digital Innovation Fellow in Bryan, TX for a one-year, part-time assignment. You will work with a national award-winning digital team to develop innovative strategies for sharing local news with new audiences and craft digital and streaming projects to boost cross-platform viewership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or in final year.
• Excellent writing and copy-editing abilities in AP Style.
• Video editing skills.
• Demonstrated video sourcing and production abilities.
• Intimate familiarity with content management systems.
• Ability to adjust strategy based on evolving needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to tailor content to distribution platforms, including social media.

Responsibilities

• Produce content for all digital platforms, including the station website and streaming apps.
• Create engaging digital and streaming projects to boost cross-platform viewership.
• Write AP-style news stories with accuracy.
• Respond quickly to developing news and report breaking events online.
• Collaborate with editors, reporters, and producers to ensure current information.
• Uphold the station's journalistic standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
