Qualifications
- Empathy for others; a team builder focused on getting it right and serving the community.
- Strong writing skills.
- Knowledge of digital and social platforms and current trends.
- Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but there is a sizeable staff to cover all dayparts.
- MVR check required.
Responsibilities
- Be a team player
- Gather facts, conduct interviews
- Write and post content, including news stories, videos, and pictures, across our digital and social platforms
- Monitor news sources
- Assist with producing newscasts
- Communicate with the newsroom, collaborate with teammates
