Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks a Digital Graphic & Multimedia Designer to conceptualize and produce high-quality visuals supporting the university’s brand and digital presence. You will create web graphics, banners, videos, and UX/UI mockups across platforms, ensuring accessibility and engagement.

You will collaborate with web, social, and content teams to enhance storytelling and usability, while maintaining scalable design systems and delivering on campaigns across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications or related field.
• At least 3 years full-time experience designing digital graphics and multimedia content for web/marketing.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Figma.
• Experience creating responsive graphics, banners, and short-form video content.
• Proficient in HTML/CSS for design implementation.
• Familiar with UX/UI principles and WCAG accessibility.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design web graphics for homepage banners, emails, and marketing assets in line with Stony Brook’s brand.
• Create animated display ads, motion graphics, and short-form video content for web and social.
• Develop UX/UI mocks, wireframes, and prototypes for websites and digital products with developers.
• Collaborate with content, social media, and marketing teams to translate campaign goals into visuals.
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA).
• Maintain and evolve design systems, templates, and reusable components.
• Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
