Job summary

CGS is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst to focus on preservation and collection of data from mobile devices and cloud sources. The role requires on-site presence with occasional travel for on-site collection and a lab-dense office environment.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in digital forensics or CS/engineering and 1+ years in forensic work, with experience in EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, and related tools, plus strong documentation and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in Digital Forensic Science or CS/Engineering.
• 1+ years of relevant forensic experience with lifecycle, evidence acquisitions, and intermediate analysis.
• Experience using industry standard forensic tools: EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, X1 Social Discovery, Logicube Falcon.
• Knowledge of Mac/Windows filesystems, mobile devices, encryption.
• Experience preserving desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, cloud and on-premise email data forensically.
• Strong communication and ability to work overtime to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic data collection and basic analysis in on-site and remote capacity.
• Coordinate with legal teams and client IT to define project scope.
• Maintain forensic tool sets with updates and new options.
• Collaborate with PM and teammates to complete complex projects fast.
• Develop, document, and refine procedures for discovery requirements.
• Manage chain of custody best practices per rules of evidence.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and perform quality checks.
• Handle additional duties assigned by the manager, including general IT tasks.
