Hours: Full-Time, Second Shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

We are looking for a dependable, hands‑on Digital Finishing Operator to operate and maintain digital finishing equipment and ensure every job is completed according to client specifications. If you enjoy working with production equipment, troubleshooting problems, and taking pride in producing high‑quality finished work, we would love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As our Digital Finishing Operator, you will set up, operate, and monitor finishing equipment used to cut, fold, perforate, stitch, bind, and prepare printed materials for mailing or shipping. You will review job requirements, plan finishing operations, and monitor quality throughout each production run.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Reviewing job tickets to determine quantities, finishing specifications, samples, and special binding or finishing instructions.
  • Planning finishing operations in the appropriate sequence and grouping similar jobs when possible, to maximize efficiency.
  • Setting up, programming, and operating digital finishing equipment, including Duplo equipment, cutters, Bourg binders, folders, and other finishing equipment.
  • Performing cutting, folding, perforating, stitching, binding, envelope insertion, and other finishing operations.
  • Loading equipment with materials and making necessary adjustments based on paper size and job specifications.
  • Verifying paper, print quality, and finished products meet job specifications.
  • Monitoring equipment throughout production runs and responding to faults, errors, or equipment alerts.
  • Pulling and inspecting samples throughout production runs to maintain quality and identify necessary adjustments.
  • Completing required quality control documentation.
  • Troubleshooting finishing and equipment issues and making routine adjustments, as necessary.
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and coordinating service when needed.
  • Sorting and preparing completed jobs for mailing or shipping.
  • Pulling inventory items associated with production orders and maintaining accurate inventory counts.
  • Maintaining accurate production records and job logs.
  • Monitoring supply and inventory levels and requesting additional materials as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Supporting additional production needs and projects assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience operating digital finishing, bindery, printing, or other production equipment.
  • Experience with Duplo equipment, cutters, Bourg binders, folders, or similar finishing equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate production equipment.
  • Knowledge of machine operation, setup, adjustment, and basic maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets, production specifications, and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple jobs in a production environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree related technical education, or completion of a related apprenticeship program.
  • Experience performing routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a commercial print or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Move and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a production environment where noise is present.
  • Move throughout the production area and between workstations.
  • Visually inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
