Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a senior Digital Experience leader to own the online customer journey, optimize site performance, and drive conversions across the eCommerce platform. You will collaborate with Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and Technology to deliver cohesive brand experiences.
The role requires 7+ years in eCommerce, experience with premium lifestyle brands, and a strong analytics background using tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in‑office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.
Own the online customer experience roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction. Develop and execute strategies that support business objectives, seasonal priorities, product launches, and brand campaigns. Partner with Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and Technology teams to ensure a cohesive customer journey across all touchpoints. Champion customer‑first thinking and continuously advocate for experience improvements.
Manage the day‑to‑day website experience, ensuring content, navigation, search, product discovery, and conversion flows are optimized. Monitor site health, performance, and usability, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement. Lead A/B testing and optimization initiatives focused on increasing conversion, average order value, and customer engagement. Collaborate with site operations, UX and development teams to improve site functionality, accessibility, and mobile experiences.
Manage the eCommerce site calendar, balancing competing business needs. Coordinate execution of homepage updates, seasonal campaigns, promotional events, and product launches. Ensure brand consistency and storytelling is effectively represented across digital experiences. Work closely with Creative and Content teams to deliver engaging customer experiences.
Oversee onsite merchandising strategies including category pages, product sorting, collections, landing pages, and promotional placement. Ensure products are discoverable, properly categorized, and aligned with seasonal and campaign priorities. Partner with Merchandise Planning and Buying teams to align site experience with inventory, assortment, and business priorities. Analyze product and category performance to optimize placement and customer engagement.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators including but not limited to conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, engagement metrics, bounce rate, search performance, etc. Use analytics tools and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and solutions to reduce friction in the customer journey. Develop recommendations and business cases for onsite UX and technology enhancements.

YOU HAVE Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, Digital Media, or related field. 7+ years of experience in eCommerce across digital merchandising, UX, or digital experience management. Experience working with premium consumer brands, footwear, apparel, outdoor, or lifestyle categories preferred. Strong understanding of customer journeys and conversion optimization. Experience utilizing web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar tools. Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and content management systems. Salesforce Commerce Cloud preferred. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
