Job summary

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Digital Evidence Technician to support criminal investigations by handling video evidence from digital devices, BWC footage, CCTV, and related records.

You will collect, preserve, redact, and disseminate digital evidence, assist with public records requests, and coordinate with the State Attorney’s Office for viewing and disposition. The role requires relevant education/experience and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of clerical or criminal justice experience.
• An associate degree with major in CS/forensic science/criminal justice or a bachelor’s degree with major in CS/forensic science/criminal justice plus appropriate experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, preserve, and process video evidence for investigations.
• Provide public records support for digital evidence requests (BWC, CCTV, redaction).
• Review digital evidence records for redaction and dissemination in line with policies.
• Collaborate with SAO and other agencies on viewing, reproduction, and final disposition.
• Assist with digital evidence training and respond to subpoenas/testimony.
