Job summary

El Concilio of San Mateo County in Redwood City is seeking a Digital Equity Program Coordinator to support the Digital Equity and Navigation Programs, leading New Voices for Youth and Conectémonos!, connecting community members with digital resources and building literacy across our communities.

You will develop workshop content, teach video filming and editing, recruit youth from local centers, mentor volunteers, maintain program data, and collaborate with libraries and after-school providers

• Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of experience working in technology education, community training, digital literacy programs, or in a similar field
• Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with clients, guests, volunteers, and coworkers
• Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Digital Equity and Navigation programs and initiatives
• Administer and facilitate workshops and trainings across both programs
• Develop workshop content for the Conectémonos program
• Teach video filming and editing or other techniques, both online and in person
• Work with local after-school programs and providers to establish partnerships
• Recruit youth from local after-school centers and support their participation in the New Voices for Youth
• Mentor, train, and provide ongoing support to high school volunteers
• Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment for youth and adult learners
• Maintain accurate program data and assist with reports and data entry
• Serve as a liaison between ECSMC, working groups/subcommittees, including conducting presentations as needed
• Manage ongoing relationships with the North Fair Oaks Library, afterschool programs, and school sites
• Provide technology support to ECSMC Programs as needed
• Conduct outreach as needed for Conectemonos program
• Support the communications team as needed
• Perform additional administrative tasks as needed

Education

Job description

Under the supervision of the Public Policy Manager, the Digital Equity Program Coordinator will support the Digital Equity and Navigation Programs of El Concilio of San Mateo County (ECSMC), leading the New Voices for Youth Program and ¡Conectémonos! These programs connect community members and youth with digital resources and build technology and digital literacy across our communities. The Coordinator will also provide ongoing technology education, training, and support for ECSMC programs, staff, volunteers, and promotores.

About the Digital Equity and Navigation Programs

New Voices for Youth supports students from underserved communities in using video and other digital tools for advocacy. Meeting at afterschool centers, students choose topics, practice interviews, and create and edit digital narratives. The program has historically taken place twice a week in North Fair Oaks at the Siena Youth Center (SYC), and in East Palo Alto at the Boys and Girls Club (BGCP).

¡Conectémonos! supports and guides local community members in navigating technology and building digital literacy, with the help of high school volunteers. The program currently takes place at the North Fair Oaks Library three days a week, with plans to expand to additional locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of experience working in technology education, community training, digital literacy programs, or in a similar field
• Commitment to supporting the agency’s overall mission and vision

Compensation

$24-$27 hourly, benefited position

Work Schedule

40 hours/week. Final Schedule will be finalized upon hiring; typical schedule is Monday,

Wednesday, and Thursday 12-8 PM, and Tuesday and Saturday 10 AM-6 PM. Most

programming takes place in the evening, and some weekend work is required.

Location

Hybrid - direct service and programming are on-site, while some meetings and

administration may be done remotely.
