Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support, remaining close to code.

You will coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams, mentor engineers, and engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into deliverable plans. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern UI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with UI frameworks Angular or React and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building, reviewing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications on a major cloud platform.
• Practical experience with source control, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, tests, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices and distributed teams coordination.
• Demonstrated mentorship and coaching skills for engineering practices and team growth.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent.
• Experience with logging/monitoring using Splunk or similar observability tools.
• Working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or Flink for batch or real-time data processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communications in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proofs-of-concept.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and time zones.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; communicate progress.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven/data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink.
