Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager in San Diego to lead a team of 10–15 digital/VHDL engineers within the E&S Software and Digital Technologies group. The role combines technical leadership with personnel management, staffing, and process improvements.

The candidate will spend about 80% of time on programs such as F-35/F-22 communications systems, and must hold an active Secret Clearance and be able to work on site at the Rancho Carmel facility.

Qualifications

• BS + 5 years in related STEM field; MS + 3 years of exp.
• Significant direct experience in digital and VHDL engineering.
• Excellent written and communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• On-site at Rancho Carmel facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of 10–15 digital/VHDL engineers within the SWDT department.
• Coordinate staffing, recruiting, training, and performance reviews for the team.
• Evaluate salaries, facilitate promotions, and coordinate with HR on adjustments.
• Support and implement digital engineering processes and best practices.
• Act as a technical performer on programs involving DoD communications systems.
