Organization's Summary Statement:
The Robert H. Smith School of Business seeks a Digital Content Specialist to manage and improve content across the school's public website and intranet. This is a hands‑on digital publishing and content‑strategy position.
The Digital Content Specialist will build and maintain pages in Drupal, manage incoming website requests, advise colleagues on effective ways to present information online and ensure that published content is accurate, accessible, well organized and optimized for search and AI‑assisted discovery. A major focus of the position will be the creation and ongoing improvement of academic programs and graduate admissions webpages.
The Digital Content Specialist will turn approved copy and source materials into effective webpages using the components available within Smith's Drupal design system. This work requires more than placing text on a page: the manager will determine appropriate content hierarchy, page structure, visual treatment, calls to action and relationships among pages. The position also maintains faculty and staff profiles, events, news, institutional stories, centers and initiatives, downloadable materials and other recurring content. Additional responsibilities include first-line website troubleshooting, form and integration testing, analytics support and email journey building and updates in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
This is primarily an individual-contributor role and does not require software development. The Digital Content Specialist will work closely with other members of the web, marketing, communications, design, admissions, and IT teams and will elevate specialized design or development needs to the appropriate colleagues.
