Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks a seasoned content editor for the State Parks Digital Media team. You will plan, write, and edit web content for the State Parks website, intranet, and digital publications, coordinating with content experts to keep information current using Plone CMS.

You will oversee digital accessibility, train staff on Plone, and manage editorial workflows, ensuring compliance with agency policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Four years of experience in planning, writing, editing or creating web or print content for public information, outdoor industry, parks interpretation or related areas.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas class 'C' driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, write, and edit content for the State Parks website, intranet, events calendar and digital publications.
• Coordinate with content experts to update content using Plone CMS.
• Ensure digital accessibility per WCAG 2.1 and train staff on Plone use.
• Establish editorial workflows and manage documentation to track progress.
• Oversee web administrator distance learning and school engagement specialist.
• Serve as primary contact for the division for web-based products.
