The State of Missouri's Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (DHEWD) is seeking a skilled communications professional to support content creation, digital updates, internal and public-facing messaging.

You will manage websites with WordPress/Drupal, design materials with Adobe Creative Suite, monitor analytics, ensure accessibility, and help campaigns across platforms while collaborating with staff and partners.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Creative problem-solving and storytelling abilities.
  • Understanding of marketing and communications principles.
  • Experience with Drupal and/or WordPress preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support a wide range of communications activities, including content creation, digital updates, internal communications and public-facing messaging.
  • Create, edit, and publish content across multiple platforms, including websites, email newsletters, social media, and print materials.
  • Assist with managing and updating department websites using WordPress and Drupal.
  • Monitor digital analytics to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all digital and print materials meet accessibility standards (ADA Title II and Section 508 guidance).
  • Assist with the design and layout of communication materials (web pages, graphics, presentations, promotional items).
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts promoting department programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to develop clear, accurate, engaging content.
  • Prepare and distribute informational materials to internal and external audiences.
