Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. is seeking a field service installation and troubleshooting expert for the full line of Caterpillar Digital Technology Products and networked systems.

You will train customers and internal teams while supporting Product Link hardware and VisionLink productivity tools on-site and remotely. The role requires strong mechanical experience, clear communication, and the ability to manage warranty paperwork, software updates, and field service reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some College or Trade School preferred
• 3+ years mechanical/heavy equipment experience

Responsibilities

• Completes detailed service reports promptly
• Submits warranty paperwork for serviced products
• Aids in testing and upgrading Product Link technology components
• Handles paperwork and shipping of warrantable parts
• Maintains electronic and hard copy libraries of technical service literature
• Responds to customer technical and support calls
• Provides on-site or call-in support for extended service agreements
• Tracks and reports product problems to Wagner and Caterpillar factory contacts
• Assists service managers in policy and decision making
• Communicates potential sales and upgrade leads to sales staff
• Activates Caterpillar SEA on machines as needed
• Registers Product Link hardware with Caterpillar
• Downloads and uploads software/firmware across tech products range
• Supports Caterpillar Technology System demos for clients
• Learns supplier websites and price books
• Installs Asset management products such as Product Link
• Other duties as assigned by manager

This position will serve as the field service installation and troubleshooting expert on the full line of Caterpillar Digital Technology Products and supporting infrastructure (Product Link hardware/ VisionLink Productivity applications) and machine health telematics, offered by Wagner Equipment Co. supporting the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.” And will also provide support and training to both internal and external customers on the full line of technology products.

Pay Rate: $61,665.61 - $84,845.00 Annually. Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.

Essential Functions

• Completes detailed service reports in a timely manner
• Completes and submits all necessary warranty paperwork for the product being worked on
• Provides assistance in warehouse with testing and upgrading Product Link technology components
• Properly completes all needed paperwork and forms, labels and returns all warrantable parts (this will also include the responsibility for shipping components and parts to WECo stores, repair centers, or factory locations)
• Maintains electronic and hard copy libraries of needed technical service literature
• Responds in a timely manner to customer technical and support calls
• Communicates with customers regarding installations and location of machine
• Provides on-site or call-in service support for customer purchased extended support agreements
• Tracks and reports product problems to appropriate Wagner and Caterpillar factory contacts
• Assists service managers in making customer, dealer, and manufacturer policy settlement decisions
• Communicates possible sales and upgrades leads to the appropriate sales staff
• Activates Caterpillar Software Enable Attachments (SEA) on Caterpillar machines as needed
• Registers Product Link hardware with Caterpillar prior to installation
• Locates, downloads, and uploads applicable software and firmware across the entire tech products range (AG and MC&G) and keeping these files on laptop
• Provides support for Caterpillar Technology System demos to both internal and external customers (must develop a good working relationship with customer’s operating personnel and provide training and refreshers as needed)
• Learns and becomes self-sufficient in the various suppliers web sites, price books, and manuals
• Installs Asset management products. Examples – Product Link,

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some College or Trade School Preferred
• 3+ years Mechanical/ heavy equipment experience
