Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services seeks a Graduate Trainee in Digital & Technology for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• 0-1 years of related work experience.
• Foundational programming knowledge in Java, Python, or C#.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with databases and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured rotational program across ERP, digital manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Data & Analytics.
• Develop an understanding of core business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, and commercial functions.
• Contribute to development of modern enterprise applications across web, mobile, and cloud.
• Assist in ERP system configuration, reporting, integration support, and issue resolution.
• Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives including MES, IoT, and OT solutions.
• Explore and apply AI-assisted tools to improve software development, analytics, automation, and business processes.
• Contribute to cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability assessments, access controls, security monitoring, and compliance documentation.
• Support infrastructure operations including cloud services, server environments, network support, automation, and performance monitoring.
• Assist in data analytics including data extraction, transformation, visualization, dashboards, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and change management following IT governance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate as appropriate.
• Adhere to security, quality, compliance standards.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This program is designed to develop the next generation of Digital & Technology leaders at West. Participants will gain hands‑on experience across enterprise platforms, manufacturing technologies, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and analytics while working on real business challenges that support life‑saving healthcare products used around the world. As a Graduate Trainee in D&T, you will take part in structured learning and on‑the‑job training to build strong technical and professional skills. You’ll participate in a structured rotational program across key technology domains including ERP systems, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Data & Analytics. The role offers exposure to live projects, modern tools, and AI‑driven technologies, giving you the chance to learn from experienced mentors and build the foundation for a successful career in Digital & Technology, with exposure to enterprise platforms, software engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, manufacturing technologies, and data & analytics.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured rotational program across key technology domains including ERP systems, digital manufacturing, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, and Data & Analytics.
• Develop an understanding of core business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, and commercial functions.
• Contribute to the development of modern enterprise applications across web, mobile, and cloud platforms.
• Assist in ERP system configuration, reporting, integration support, and issue resolution activities.
• Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives, including manufacturing execution systems (MES), industrial connectivity, IoT, and operational technology solutions supporting West's global manufacturing network.
• Explore and apply AI-assisted tools and technologies to improve software development, analytics, automation, and business processes.
• Contribute to cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability assessments, access controls, security monitoring, and compliance documentation.
• Support infrastructure operations including cloud services, server environments, network support, automation, and performance monitoring.
• Assist in data analytics initiatives including data extraction, transformation, visualization, dashboard development, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to understand system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, system testing, documentation, and change management processes following IT governance standards.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolution or escalation as appropriate.
• Adhere to West’s security, quality, compliance, and regulatory standards in all system development and operational activities.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve enterprise systems and processes.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Analytics, or related technical discipline.

Work Experience

• 0-1 years of related work experience required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling concepts.
• Awareness of generative AI, machine learning concepts, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP), enterprise applications, or business process workflows.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as network security, identity management, encryption, and risk management.
• Awareness of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Understanding data analytics concepts, visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), or scripting for data analysis.

Travel Requirements

10%: Up to 26 business days per year
