Job summary

Florida Polytechnic University seeks a Digital Accessibility Student Worker to ensure Section 508 compliance across digital and web platforms. You will help convert documents for accessibility and support training efforts across campus.

Responsibilities include evaluating accessibility, guiding remediation, and developing online resources. You must be enrolled at the university, maintain a minimum GPA, and work 10 hours weekly in the Office of ADA Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 and have completed 9 credits or more with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
• Proficiency with programming tools commonly used in data science projects.

Responsibilities

• Review of digital media in conjunction with various offices.
• Convert and format documents to be compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Perform Section 508 web-based evaluations and provide remediation suggestions.
• Assist in development of online and in-person accessibility training.
• Develop resources to support accessibility including guides and tutorials.
• Support remediation of inaccessible digital content as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned related to the position.
