Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, TX, is seeking a Diffusion Operations shift supervisor to lead a team of 10–15 technicians. You will coach and develop staff, coordinate daily workloads, and drive production and quality metrics on state-of-the-art diffusion equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or better and 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing; experience with Diffusion, TEL/KE Furnace, AMAT EPI/CVD preferred. On-site, full-time with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; technical degree or military tech experience preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Diffusion, TEL/KE Furnace, AMAT EPI and/or CVD process/equipment preferred.
• Experience supporting equipment maintenance and process development/sustaining.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of 10-15 Diffusion technicians.
• Coordinate daily workload and sustain activities; lead team meetings.
• Respond to out-of-control/out-of-spec conditions to minimize production impact.
• Monitor equipment status and technician response to meet availability goals.
• Lead development and improvement of operational/technical documentation for efficiency.
• Ensure SOPs, PTPs, and OCAPs are used for safe, efficient, cost-effective work.
• Supervise electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting to determine corrective action.

Position Summary Diffusion Operations shift supervisors lead a team of technicians focused on maintaining operational condition of state-of-the-art semiconductor production equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for team development and shift performance - balancing the development of your team’s technical and professional skills while driving achievement of key quality, production and cost performance metrics.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of 10-15 Diffusion technicians
• Coordinate and lead team meetings and coordinate team members’ daily workload and sustaining activities in the fab when necessary
• Ensure timely response to out-of-control or out-of-specification conditions to minimize impact to production and quality
• Monitor equipment status and technician response throughout assigned shift to ensure availability goals are met
• Lead the development, review and improvement of operational and technical documentation to identify and drive operational efficiency improvements
• Ensure SOPs, PTPs, and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs) are utilized to work safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
• Supervise electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting activities to ensure best course of corrective action is determined and executed

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Education: High school diploma / GED is required; Technical degree or equivalent military technical experience strongly preferred, but not required
• 5+ years of semi-conductor experience in high volume manufacturing environment highly desired
• Knowledge of Diffusion, TEL/KE Furnace, AMAT EPI and/or CVD process and equipment preferred
• Experience supporting equipment maintenance
• Experience supporting process development and sustaining

The current base salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 - $135,000.00. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
