Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK, is hiring Dietitian positions in Clinical Nutrition Services to support medical nutrition therapy across acute and outpatient care teams. Responsibilities

• Assess nutrition needs based on medical diagnosis and clinical data.
• Develop, implement, and manage interdisciplinary care plans.
• Counsel patients and families on medical nutrition therapy.
• Refer to other team members to optimize care and follow-up.
• Advocate for nutrition care and mentor students/interns.

Education

Job description

We are hiring for Dietitian positions in the Clinical Nutrition Services at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK! $5,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Available Positions

• Full time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week (Offering a $5,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.)
• Part time, 0.5 FTE, Day Shift, 20 Hours Per Week (Offering a $2,500 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.)

Responsibilities

• Assessment of medical nutrition therapy needs based upon the patient's medical diagnosis, laboratory values, anthropometric measures, medications, age-specific requirements, and other co-morbidity factors identified by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or other members of the health care team.
• Development, implementation, and management of an individualized, interdisciplinary team plan of care designed to achieve maximum nutrition support.
• Counseling and education with patient/family in the application of medical nutrition therapy principles when appropriate.
• Make appropriate referrals to other members of the health care team to optimize outpatient care and follow‑up.
• Function as an advocate for nutrition care for the acutely ill adult and pediatric hospitalized patient; a consultant to medical staff; a nutrition consultant in the community when contracted or requested across the continuum of care; and as a preceptor to students and interns interested in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition or related field
• Successful completion of a dietetic internship program
• Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the Commission for Dietetic Registration for maintenance of registered status
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Alaska Dietitian License, or Alaska Nutritionist License
• Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year Clinical Experience in Adult population.
• 1 year Clinical Experience in Pediatric population.

Pay

Pay Range: $33.63 - $52.22. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
