Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
  • Successful completion of a dietetic internship program.
  • Continuing education in accordance with Commission on Dietetic Registration maintenance requirements.
  • Within 6 months of hire: Alaska Dietitian License or Alaska Nutritionist License.
  • Within 6 months of hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

  • Assess nutrition therapy needs based on patient diagnosis, labs, anthropometrics, medications and co-morbidity factors.
  • Develop, implement and manage an individualized, interdisciplinary care plan for nutrition support.
  • Counsel patients and families on medical nutrition therapy principles as appropriate.
  • Refer to other health care team members to optimize outpatient care and follow-up.
  • Advocate for nutrition care for acutely ill hospitalized patients and consult with medical staff.

We are hiring for Dietitian positions in Clinical Nutrition Services Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

+ Full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week.

+ Part-time, 0.5 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 20 hours per week.

+ Per Diem, 0.01 FTE, Day Shift, Hours Per Week as needed

Assessment of medical nutrition therapy needs based upon the patient's medical diagnosis, laboratory values, anthropometric measures, medications, age-specific requirements, and other co-morbidity factors identified by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or other members of the health care team. Development, implementation, and management of an individualized, interdisciplinary team plan of care designed to achieve maximum nutrition support. Counseling and education of patient/family in the application of medical nutrition therapy principles when appropriate. Make appropriate referrals to other members of the health care team to optimize outpatient care and follow-up. Function as an advocate for nutrition care for the acutely ill hospitalized patient; a consultant to medical staff; and a nutrition consultant in the community when contracted or requested across the continuum of care.

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree Food and Nutrition or related field. And

+ Coursework/Training Successful completion of a dietetic internship program. And

+ Coursework/Training Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the Commission for Dietetic Registration for maintenance of registered status.

+ Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Alaska Dietitian License Or

+ Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Alaska Nutritionist License

+ Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 1 year Clinical Experience.
