Job Details

Western State Hospital, an acute care adult psychiatric facility in Hopkinsville, KY, is seeking a Dietitian to join our team. This role focuses on providing nutritional care for individuals with mental health conditions, working closely with an interdisciplinary team to support patient well-being. It is a full-time position (30-40 hrs/wk), Monday-Friday, with a flexible schedule. Onsite presence is required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provides medical nutrition therapy including assessment, diet modification, education, and intervention for the patient population.
2. Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual.
3. Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accreditation agencies, while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
4. Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable.
5. Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
2. State licensure as required.
3. One year of hospital experience preferred.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, diet office systems, and nutrient analysis software.
