Job summary

Providence Health & Services seeks a Nutrition Care Specialist to coordinate clinical nutrition across hospital, home and clinical settings in Tukwila. Travel to patient sites will be required as part of the hybrid role.

You will lead nutrition care decisions, optimize resource use, and work with pharmacists on TPN management and enteral patient monitoring to improve patient outcomes and reduce risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field is required.
• Washington Dietitian Certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
• Washington Nutritionist Certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
• National CDR Registered Dietitian certification is required at hire or soon after.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and direct quality, cost-effective nutrition care under minimum supervision.
• Assist in management of nutritional resources at the site.
• Make decisions affecting patient nutrition care and work to improve nutrition status and reduce complications.
• Assist pharmacists in managing TPN patients and perform clinical monitoring of enteral patients.

Job description

Overview

This is a hybrid position in the Tukwila site that will require traveling to see patients in hospital, clinical setting and/or homes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Developing, coordinating and directing all aspects of quality, cost-effective, outcome-oriented clinical nutrition care under minimum supervision.
• Assists in the management of PIPS' nutritional resources.
• Responsible for decisions and judgments affecting patients total nutrition care. Facilitates improvement in patient's nutrition status to reduce complications and lower the risk of harm to the patient.
• Assists the pharmacists in managing the TPN patients. Clinical monitoring of enteral patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Dietitian Certification, or
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Nutritionist Certification
• Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration
• 1 year hospital and/or home care experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in enteral/parenteral nutrition.
• Pediatric, adult and geriatric experience.
• Development of nutrition related forms and policies and procedures.
