Job summary

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to plan and provide medical nutrition therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, education, and monitoring. Collaboration with the care team ensures age-appropriate services for patients across units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Nutrition or related field required.
• Washington Dietitian Certification or Washington Nutritionist Certification within 6 months of hire.
• National CDR Registered Dietitian required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy including nutritional assessment, development of a therapeutic plan, nutrition education, and monitoring of patient response.
• Collaborate with the health care team to ensure care appropriate to patient age on assigned units.

Education

Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist(RDN) in collaboration with other health care team members, plans and provides medical nutrition therapy to patients. This includes nutritional assessment, development of therapeutic plan, nutrition education and monitoring of patients response to medical nutrition therapy. The RD must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned units.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or nutrition-related field -OR- Master's Degree in Nutrition or nutrition-related field
• Washington Dietitian Certification -OR- Washington Nutritionist Certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire
• National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Certification by American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Association of Diabetics Educators, or Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics upon hire
• Experience in Clinical Dietetics specifically with age group to be served (neonate, infant, toddler, preschool, school-age child, adolescent, early adult, middle adult, older adult)
• Work experience in acute care and/or outpatient settings, as applicable
