Description:Provides technical and administrative assistance to Clinical Nutritionist staff.Ensures effective nutritional care of patients in accordance with established procedures.Under the direction of clinical nutrition leadership, responsible for the calculation, preparation, delivery, and monitoring of mixed formula and breast milk as applicable.Interacts with patients, visitors, and employees in a courteous manner.Identifies self to the patient and clearly and concisely explains functions and tasks as applicable.Refers matters outside the scope of own duties to appropriate others as necessary.Completes all tasks related to preparation of mixed formula, additives, and breast milk in accordance with policies and procedures.Reviews patient medical records for feeding orders and prepares feeds, labels, and delivers to each unit.Completes inventory processes on each unit.Maintains inventory of mixing room supplies, formulas, and enteral feeding equipment.Monitors expiration dates and maintains necessary par levels.Communicates inventory with patients and caregivers as applicable.Maintains a clean work area.Maintains data logs including dishwasher temperature and cleaning.Prepares emergency feeds as needed.Communicates with other staff regarding feeding order changes.Participates in community projects as applicable.Maintains current knowledge of the field including familiarity with infant and pediatric formulas and additives.Performs duties in an ethical and compassionate manner.Applies knowledge of age-specific patient needs as warranted.Follows infection control regulatory requirements and applicable safety plans for formula and breast milk preparation.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
