Stony Brook University is seeking a Dietician/Nutritionist I to provide nutrition support primarily in the WIC program. The individual will conduct nutrition counseling, document interactions, and engage with participants both virtually and in-person, contributing to community health initiatives.

Dietician/Nutritionist I
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nutrition or related field. Experience with Nutrition Counseling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian. Completion of a Dietetic Internship or Professional Nutrition Practice Program approved by the American Dietetic Association. One (1) year of full-time experience with Nutrition Counseling. WIC experience.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Dietitian/Nutritionist I will be providing nutrition support to the WIC Program. The successful incumbent should have the ability to work independently under pressure, handling customer related issues as needed. Travel to other WIC sites when required. The successful incumbent will have the ability to communicate with staff, families, children and the general public. Nutrition counseling may occur virtually (over the phone) or in person. This position will be primarily in our Bay Shore clinic but may require travel to other sites located in Farmingville, Lake Grove and Hauppauge. Incumbents will also attend mandatory NYSDOH training virtually or within NY State.

FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
