Job summary

Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Full-Time Dietary Utility Aide to join our state-of-the-art facility in Frederick, MD. The role involves dishwashing, cleaning, and assisting in food preparation and serving under the supervision of the Dietary Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in hospital or long-term care facility dietary department preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Highest level of professionalism with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes into dish machine.
  • Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine.
  • Unload dishes and utensils and ensure proper drying.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen and dining area; sweep and mop as needed.
  • Assist in food preparation and serving; help in the Dietary Director's supervision.
  • Stock and store food items from deliveries.
  • Report hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Utility staff are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, glassware, pots, pans and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Additionally, utility staff are expected to keep the dishwashing and main kitchen area clean and safe.Assist in food preparation and serving; maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas under the supervision of the DietaryDirector.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below and be able to work in the described environment.
  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment
  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine
  • Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine
  • Unload dishes and utensils from dish machine and organize them to assure that they are properly dried
  • Empty trash containers regularly
  • Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as requested
  • Clean and maintain food prep stations and equipment as assigned
  • Help Dietary Aide position as needed
  • Assistin the preparation and serving of meals and snacksas needed
  • Stock and store food itemsfrom deliveries,as assigned.
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents, as necessary
  • Other special projects and duties,as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience
  • Experience in hospital orlong-term carefacility dietary department preferred
  • Effective verbal and written English communicationskills
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize
  • Annual influenza vaccine is required
Primary Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.: Constantly/ Lift 26 to 50 lbs.: Occasionally
  • Carry up to 10 lbs.: Constantly/ Carry up to 11 to 25 lbs.: Frequently
  • Reach above and below shoulder height
