Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Management in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Dietary Services Director to lead and coordinate dietary operations in a skilled nursing environment. This full-time, days position requires directing staff, ensuring nutrition plans are followed, and maintaining compliance with sanitation and corporate policies.

The incumbent will participate in care planning, perform nutrition assessments, schedule staff, and oversee training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a Dietary Manager Training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association and pass the National Certification exam.
• Maintain current certification by completing at least 45 hours of seminars/workshops every three years.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, record keeping, budgeting, menu planning, diet therapy, and purchasing procedures and dietary management.
• Experience with MDS and ability to assess nutritional needs of residents.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong organizational skills.
• Read, know and follow personnel, department and Facility procedures.
• Comply with DMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Performance.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and supervise Dietary Services staff to assure quality dietary services.
• Act as Dietary Services Director per laws and facility policies.
• Coordinate food service to ensure nutritionally supported diets as ordered.
• Participate in Care Plans & MDS conferences.
• Complete nutritional assessments and dietary sections of MDS.
• Prepare and monitor staff work schedules.
• Monitor orientation and training of dietary staff per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Assure quality dietary services by directing, coordinating, and supervising Dietary Services staff.
• Assume responsibility as Dietary Services Director in accordance with local, state, and federal sanitation and other laws regulating food service, as well as Facility policies and procedures.
• Coordinates food service to assure patients receive nutritious, attractively, served diets as ordered by their attending physician in accordance with approved corporate menu cycle.
• Participates in Care Plans & MDS conferences.
• Completes nutritional assessments and dietary sections of MDS.
• Prepares and monitors work schedule for dietary services staff.
• Monitors the orientation and training of dietary services employees per Facility policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
