Job summary

Evergreen Healthcare Group's Prairie View Healthcare Center in Woonsocket, SD is seeking a Dietary Services Manager who has a passion for food and nutrition and delivering a great dining experience for residents.

You will oversee dietary policies with a Dietitian, represent the dietary department in staff meetings, manage procurement, supervise food preparation, and ensure sanitation, safety, and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Course in food service supervision meeting DMA standards, or 90+ hours with dietitian consulting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform bending/reaching.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dietary policies and processes with the Dietitian.
• Represent the dietary department at staff meetings and communicate information to staff.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal participation standards for long-term care.
• Adapt menu cycle to resident preferences with the Dietitian.
• Supervise procurement, ordering, receiving, and storage of food.
• Supervise food preparation and service, including active participation as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and cleaning, food service, storage of supplies, and staff hygiene.
• Coordinate with leadership to work collaboratively with Center and Divisional teams.
• Direct communication with residents to obtain preferences and recommendations.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Manages dietary policies and processes with the assistance of the Dietitian.
• Represent the dietary department at staff meetings and communicate pertinent information to staff.
• Compliance verification at both State and Federal levels of participation for long-term care.
• Adapts menu cycle to individual and Center preferences with the Dietitian.
• Supervises procurement, ordering, receiving, and storage of food.
• Supervises food preparation and service, including direct participation as needed.
• Ensures all standards and requirements are met with regard to:
• Sanitation and Cleaning
• Food Service
• Ordering and Storage of Food and Sanitation Supplies
• Dietary Staff Hygiene
• Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep (food service and otherwise)
• Ability to work collaboratively with Center and Divisional leadership.
• Direct communication with Center residents to obtain preferences, recommendations, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a course in food service supervision which meets the standards established by the Dietary Managers Association, or a graduate of another course in food service supervision with 90 or more hours in classroom instruction with on-the-job consulting by a dietitian.
• Moderate to heavy lifting (50-pound maximum), bending, reaching, and stooping.
