The role requires supervising culinary staff, planning therapeutic menus, and coordinating with Dietitians and the care team to meet individualized needs while maintaining regulatory compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer two-year supervised food service experience in an institutional setting focusing on planning, preparing and servicing regular and therapeutic diets.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and food safety standards.
• CDM certification required.
• ServSafe certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the dietary department to ensure high-quality nutritional care and dining services.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and sanitary standards.
• Plans menus that meet nutritional needs and dietary guidelines.
• Supervises culinary staff and coordinates with Dietitian and interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains inventory, orders food and manages budget considerations.
• Conducts meal observations and ensures residents receive appropriate portions and meal service.
• Participates in care conferences and quality improvement activities.
