Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures, safe food handling guidelines, and state/federal requirements.
• Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.
• Prepares food items according to recipes, ensuring safe handling practices.
• Operates institutional food preparation equipment as directed by supervisory staff.
• Set up the food tray line and assemble diet trays per diet cards.
• Deliver trays to dining areas and resident units; transport carts as needed.
• Report refusals and prepare alternates as directed; clean dishes and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of food service workspaces and report equipment issues.
