Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Director to oversee all aspects of the dietary department in our Ashland facility. You will lead menu planning, food preparation, service delivery, and ensure safety and nutrition in line with physician orders and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing the department budget, coordinating with nursing and activities, and participating in QA/IDT meetings to support resident well‑being and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved dietary manager’s course meeting state and federal regulations.
• Minimum one year of experience in a long‑term care dietary department preferred.
• Knowledge of PCC (PointClickCare) software preferred.
• Must maintain required continuing education and licensing.
• Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health License and Certification Division.

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in safe, appetizing meal service meeting prescribed dietary needs.
• Maintain food quality, portion control, and compliance with menus and physician orders.
• Manage department budget, control costs, and order supplies.
• Plan and assist with special meals for holidays and facility events.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure proper food storage and handling per regulations.
• Coordinate dietary services with nursing and activities departments.
• Participate in QA and IDT meetings.
• Present in‑service education programs for dietary staff.
