Job summary

Alliance Health Group in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Dietary Assistant Director to join our care team. The position assists the Dietary Director with daily operations of the Dietary Department, staffing, menu planning, food service, and regulatory compliance to ensure nutritious, well-prepared meals for residents.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma/GED, 2+ years in dietary or food service, 1–2 years of supervisory experience, strong English communication, and solid organizational

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related work experience may be considered.
• Minimum two years in a dietary or food service department.
• One to two years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietary Director with daily management and operations of the Dietary Department.
• Assist with hiring, training, developing, coaching, and counseling department staff.
• Create staff assignments, establish priorities, and coordinate schedules.
• Purchase food and supplies within budget and maintain inventory for meal service.
• Assist with menu planning and ensure nutritional standards and regulations are met.
• Provide guidance on planning, preparation, and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensure meals meet physician-ordered diets and dietary needs.
• Monitor food production for compliance with menus, recipes, and storage practices.
• Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and timeliness of food service.
• Document dietary records accurately and timely per policy and regulations.
