Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food service management, nutrition, or related field (preferred).
• CDM certification or eligibility required.
• 2+ years of experience in food service management, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition standards and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day food service operations ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and health regulations.
• Lead and mentor the dietary team including cooks and nutrition staff; provide training and performance feedback.
• Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional needs; respond to dietary requests and preferences.
• Collaborate on menu planning with clinical teams to accommodate special diets.
• Maintain inventory, budgeting, and cost control while ensuring quality service.
• Promote a safe, sanitary kitchen environment and conduct regular inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day food service operations, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements, are of high quality, and are prepared in compliance with health regulations.
• Team Development: Lead and supervise the dietary team, including cooks, aides, and nutrition staff. Provide training, mentorship, and performance management to maintain a high standard of food preparation and service.
• Resident Engagement: Ensure meals meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents. Respond to dietary requests and concerns, fostering a positive dining experience.
• Menu Planning: Collaborate with clinical teams to plan menus that adhere to nutrition and dietary guidelines while accommodating individual resident needs, including special diets.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all food service operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain safe food handling practices and conduct regular kitchen inspections.
• Inventory & Budgeting: Manage food inventory and ordering. Maintain cost control practices to meet budgetary guidelines while ensuring quality service.
• Health & Safety: Promote a safe, sanitary kitchen environment. Ensure proper storage and handling of food, maintaining cleanliness throughout food prep and dining areas.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with clinical teams to monitor and ensure the quality of the meals served aligns with residents' health needs and preferences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in food service management, nutrition, or a related field (preferred)
• Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or eligibility for certification (required)
• 2+ years of experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment
• Strong knowledge of nutrition standards, food safety regulations, and dietary requirements
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
