Essential Duties and Qualifications

The Dietary Manager directs and coordinates all food service activities of the facility under the supervision of the Administrator/Designee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises dietary staff to ensure departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participates in the selection of new hires, counseling, training and terminations of dietary personnel.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding food storage, preparation, and service.
• Consults with Dietitian regarding menus, resident issues and department policies.
• Monitors the departments expenses, waste, supplies, and ordering.
• Ensures compliance with menus, spreadsheets and order guides.
• Effectively operates and is able to train on all kitchen appliances.
• Ensures food is prepared, stored and served in sanitary conditions.
• Complete dietary assessments/interviews/MDS's, and care plans timely.
• Committee responsibilities as assigned.
• Complies with all established policies and procedures.
• Promote and demonstrate positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents, family members
  and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience/training.
• 90 hours Food Service Manager's course is preferred
• ServSafe Certified
• Computer knowledge and typing skills
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex information.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk,
  turn, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, talk, hear, taste or smell.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 25 pounds.
• Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• 30 days working notice is required for voluntary termination of employment.
