Job summary

Apple Rehab Guilford, a 86-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center on Guilford's waterfront, seeks a Dietary Manager to lead the Dietary Department. Reports to the Facility Administrator and drives policy adherence and budgeted operations.

Ideal candidate holds Serv Safe Manager certification with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; hospital/long-term care experience is preferred. Eligible for comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary Department, its programs and activities within approved budget and quality standards.
• Ensures that all written dietary policies, procedures, and manuals are adhered to, maintained and updated.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations in preparation for state survey.
• Prepares recommendations to the Administrator concerning department operations.
• Fosters and maintains inter-departmental communication and cooperation to ensure that any reported concerns are addressed and corrected.
• Develops the organizational structure, staffing and direction within policy and budgetary guidelines.
• Responsibly exercises authority to take necessary personnel actions for department personnel including actions impacting employment such as hire, evaluations, work assignments and schedules.
• Assists in departmental conflict resolution and makes recommendations for discipline.
• Participates in continuing education and empowerment of employees as well as makes recommendations for promotion and transfers within branches of Apple Rehab.

Job Opportunity: Dietary Manager, salaried, benefit eligible position

Reports To: Facility Administrator

Additional Qualifications

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data.
• Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks
