Job summary

Apple Rehab Mystic in Connecticut is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation, dining room service, and cleanup. You will interact daily with residents, assist with stocking supplies, and maintain a clean, sanitary dining environment.

The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, follow infection control and safety guidelines, and communicate professionally with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• The ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• The ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves and lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in emergencies.
• Ability to communicate with residents and staff professionally.

Responsibilities

• The Dietary Aide assists in meal preparation and dining area cleanup.

Job Description:

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.
