Job summary

Casa of Hobart is seeking a Dietary Department Leader to oversee all aspects of nutrition services in a long-term care setting. You will guide menu development, lead the dietary team, and ensure every meal meets quality standards and safety regulations.

The role focuses on staffing, budgeting, and maintaining high resident satisfaction through robust nutrition programs. A CDM and ServSafe certification are required, with strong communication across residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDM certification required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Knowledge of dietetic principles, sanitation, and large-scale food service.
• Experience building operational and capital budgets.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality of food across menus, production systems, and specs.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Oversee tray line and meal distribution for resident satisfaction.
• Build and operate within the department budget.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety compliance.
• Hire, train, and develop the dietary team.
• Review performance and coach staff to a high standard.
• Run test trays, tour reports, and resident admission interviews.
