Responsibilities of a Dietary Manager:

  • Lead and oversee the dietary department, ensuring the delivery of nutritious and well-balanced meals to our residents.
  • Plan and develop menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents, considering individual dietary restrictions.
  • Manage food production, including ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Supervisor and culinary team to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all dietary regulations, including state and federal guidelines.
  • Supervise and train dietary staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents' dietary needs and update care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address residents' dietary concerns and preferences.

Qualifications of a Dietary Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a dietary management role within a healthcare or nursing home setting.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for elderly populations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to dietary services.
