Job summary

Abbey-Senior-Health-1 in Missouri (O’Fallon) is seeking a Dishwasher to provide clean dishes and utensils for meals at the facility. You will contribute to smooth meal service by keeping wares ready for use and supporting kitchen operations.

The role reports to the Food Service Director and requires reading basic English, a friendly disposition, and the ability to work efficiently in a team while following infection control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.
• Operate the dish machine and observe cycle progress.
• Sort and transfer clean items to appropriate storage.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Assess and report problems with dishwashing machinery.
• Follow infection control procedures in the Dietary Department.
• Adhere to facility safety policies and disaster procedures.
• Respect Residents' Rights and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with related duties as directed by the Food Service Director.

Job Title : Dishwasher

Summary of Position

To provide clean dishes, utensils, and pots and pans for use during meals at the facility.

Essential Functions

• 1. Understand the importance of customer service and be willing to learn resident/relative satisfaction techniques.
• 2. Maintain steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.
• 3. Scrape soiled dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.
• 4. Place dishes, utensils, pots and pans into dish machine, operate machine, and observe the travel of dishes through the machine.
• 5. Sort clean dishes, utensils, pots and pans and transfer them to appropriate storage containers.
• 6. Maintain a clean work area.
• 7. Assess and report problems and breakdowns in dish washing machinery.
• 8. Observe infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department.
• 9. Observe facility safety policies and procedures.
• 10. Observe facility disaster preparedness procedures.
• 11. Observe Resident’s Rights policies and maintain resident confidentiality.
• 12. Perform other related duties as directed by the Food Service Director.

Certifications, Licenses Necessary

Must have the ability to read and understand basic English. Must have the ability to be pleasant, cheerful, tactful, and courteous when dealing with residents. Must be able to perform the physical and environmental requirements listed on attached sheet. Mush be sixteen years of age or older.
