Chateau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team on a full-time morning shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM). The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include cooking large quantities, following therapeutic diets, and maintaining accurate production records.

Qualifications

• At least one year of Dietary Cook experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, or hospital.
• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and food safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Dependability and a commitment to quality food service.
• Willingness to learn and improve food service practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, menus, production schedules, and residents’ dietary requirements.
• Prepare food in large quantities while maintaining consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
• Follow therapeutic, texture-modified, and special diet orders.
• Inspect meal trays for accuracy, appropriate portions, and presentation.
• Implement new diet orders and dietary changes communicated by Nursing Services.
• Maintain accurate food production records, temperature logs, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and dietary leadership on dietary recommendations and menu modifications.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures while maintaining resident confidentiality.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Assist with meal service to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
• Assist with routine inspections and follow facility policies and applicable requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to support quality resident care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Food Service Supervisor.
