Job summary

William Penn Care Center is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and facility policies. You will review menus, coordinate with other departments, and work with the dietitian to implement changes while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reading and speaking English, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and reliable teamwork to ensure meals meet residents' dietary needs across multiple floors.

Qualifications

• Must have 8th grade education.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff, families, and the public.
• Must know proper food handling policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure correct meals are served.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure that food procedures are followed per established policies.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Directs the set up of the dining room for meals.
