Job summary

Artesia Palms Care Center is seeking a Dietary Cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, supervise staff, and ensure safety and sanitation in the kitchen.

Responsibilities include following menus, portion control, preparing special diets, recording temperatures, and assisting with meal service. A high school diploma and hospital/long-term care cooking experience are required, along with ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certificate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, clean, and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures and assist with serving meals.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Assist with training and orientation of dietary staff.
