Job summary

Dickson Health and Rehab in Dickson, TN is seeking a reliable Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in accordance with physician orders and dietary guidelines.

You will follow planned menus, supervise portioning, maintain sanitation, and coordinate with the Dietary Manager and clinical staff to meet individual dietary needs.

Full-time and part-time shifts are available; mornings and evenings with rotating weekends, offering competitive hourly pay and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in healthcare or long-term care settings.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety standards.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure all meals meet dietary requirements, including modified textures and therapeutic diets.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with health department regulations.
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and tray line as needed.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage of all food items.
• Work closely with Dietary Manager and clinical staff regarding resident dietary needs.
• Maintain accurate production and sanitation records.
• Ensure timely meal service to residents.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
