Job summary

Ashland Health Services is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. You will prepare and serve meals with a focus on resident-centered care, following federal, state, and local guidelines, and you will work under the Dietary Services Manager.

New graduates are encouraged to apply; hands-on training and ongoing support are provided. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with benefits including health insurance, PTO, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent).
• Food Handler’s Card, Serve Safe Training or equivalent as required by state/local health departments.
• Previous kitchen/cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals according to standards and guidelines to ensure quality dining service.
• Assists with meal planning and sanitation tasks as directed by the Dietary Services Manager.

Summary of position

Prepares and serves food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, center standards and procedures and as directed by the Dietary Services Manager to ensure that quality food and dining service is always provided.

Requirements of the position

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma (or equivalent)
• Food Handler’s Card, Serve Safe Training or other as required by state or local health departments

Preferred Education and Experience

• Previous cooking and/or culinary experience preferred
• Experience in a fast‑paced environment
• Post‑acute care or health care experience preferred
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
