Job summary

Highlands Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Laporte, PA is seeking a Cook for full-time or part-time roles. Shifts include every other weekend and every other holiday. Experience in long-term care is preferred; Serve Safe certification is required.

You will prepare meals according to health regulations, review menus, assist with ordering, and maintain HACCP standards while promoting sanitation and teamwork within the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must meet local health regulations and pass drug screening, criminal background checks, and references.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; maintain regular attendance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Serve Safe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food in accordance with health regulations and policies.
• Reviews menus and production guides.
• Ensures food is appealing per cycle menus.
• Assists in ordering by inventorying food and supplies.
• Follow directives of department director with professional rapport.
• Ensures meals are palatable and visually appealing.
• Uses standard recipes and follows menu extensions.
• Participates in preparation and distribution of resident snacks.
• Maintains food temperatures and HACCP guidelines.
• Records temperature and equipment logs.
• Promotes kitchen sanitation and cleaning lists.
• Oversee dietary staff as designated by FSD.
• Perform all duties as assigned.
